Nasheed Class is a place where children can learn about their Creator, Allah, their final prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him) and their beautiful religion, Islam through the form of a song, a fun creative way. Its aim is to encourage young children especially those who have never sang before to share their talent on stage and soon go on becoming young Nasheed Artists Inshallah
Many people are not aware that it all started off in 2004, during the time when Kamal was teaching
his usual Qur'an classes which is held at the Hyde Jamia Mosque. At the end of some of the lessons when there was spare time,
Kamal would recite a nasheed (Islamic song) to his class due to their good behaviour. The kids loved every word and couldn't
wait to hear more every day. So one day after Kamal finished teaching and treating his class with another nasheed, the children
asked if he could teach them how to recite nasheeds, this surprised him so much. He realised due to limited time it wasn't
possible to teach nasheeds during the lessons so he asked the children one question: "If I open a separate Nasheed Class,
how many of you would love to join?" They all screamed out loud, "I WILL!" and the rest is history.
Since then the nasheed class has found many amazing talents by holding several Nasheed Competitions and Nasheed Games!
Last year four students, Mizanul Hussain, Naeem Miah, Rajib Qureshi and Muhammad Nobin Hussain formed a Nasheed group by the
name... 'Light of Islam' they have already performed at many big events including The Global Peace & Unity event 2008 which was organised by the Islam Channel and broadcasted in over 132 countries worldwide!
The Nasheed class opens every year and closes for the Holy Month of Ramadan. Praises be to Allah each year the class
becomes Bigger & Better.
